It was inevitable. I learned the hard way. Don’t rub it in.

Since the first set of missing monies and visa card “scams” came to light in 2019, I immediately made an alternative bank my primary, however, I failed to empty my account at the blue bank.

Friday, November 19th, 2021, is a day I would not soon forget. This was the day I finally decided to start emptying my account at this contemptible bank. I know, I know what you’re saying… “why didn’t you close your account earlier?…..You knew this was coming!”. In hindsight, of course I should have, but to be honest, I fell in love with this place, I fell in love with the easily accessible ATMs scattered all over the country, I fell in love with how easy it was to get my car loan, I fell in love with the scent of their bank (I’m dead serious about that), but today, all the love turned to hate within a few minutes. That love turned to nothing but resentment, animosity and rancour (yeah, it was that bad).

Imagine me, waiting in a long ass line only to be disrespected by a machine…something about “insufficient funds”, wha yall know about me?!?!  After checking the balance, I was further disrespected, one of my accounts had -$43. How the hell I owe this bank?!?! Over $90,000 missing from this account, I was horrified but I’m a pretty calm fella, eh. I checked the ‘other’ account, a further $170,000 missing, so if you’re not too good at math, that’s an excess of $260,000 missing from my accounts.

I don’t wuk with bank, I just guarding, talk to she!

I tried talking to the guard at the door (he had a disgusting attitude), I explained my situation to him, he said the bank closes at 2 pm, I was there before 2 pm. “I don’t wuk with bank, I just guarding, talk to she!” he pointed at the female security who didn’t acknowledge my presence as her lunch in the plastic bag was more important. A new guard took over, he told me to “hold on, ah coming”……………he never came back. Guess what? A new guard came, his attitude was horrible as well but not as bad as his predecessors. It’s definitely after 2pm now, two bank staff exited the ‘doors of hell’ and the guard said to talk to them.

They’re outside, how can they help me?…..regardless, I obliged.

I explained my situation to staff #1, her response “come back Monday, bank closed at 2”. I further explained that I can’t go through the weekend without money, at least help me enter the bank to initiate the query/complaint/investigative process, then I’ll return Monday to continue. The lady look at me and said “I’m outside, I don’t have a computer with me, I can’t help you”……well, eh eh!!

I tried talking to staff #2, the lady passed me straight while shaking her head “no” without even looking at me or saying a word.  The institution, its cybersecurity, its technological infrastructure, its staff and security personnel all work in tandem to keep their collective competency level lower than 7%  (but let’s not stray off topic here).

Monday bright & early, I’ll be heading to Blue Hell to officially start the process to be refunded my money, that will be followed up with an immediate closure of my account. Y’all better run me my money!

My advice to you is, once you’re not tied to that bank via a loan or salary…..Get Out. Leave. Run! Read part 2 here
